It’s good to protect yourself: licensed travel agents contribute to the Travel Compensation Fund (TCF), a body set up to reimburse travellers who lose money if an agency folds. Before you book your travel, check that the online agent is a member of the TCF www.tcf.org.au. It's your best guarantee of some recourse if the agency gets into financial trouble and can't provide the services you've paid for.
